Magali Berdah will be tried in December for “bankruptcy and money laundering”

She will have to face justice. Magali Berdah will be tried in December in Cannes for “bankruptcy and money laundering” for facts dating back to before the creation of her online influence agency, we learned this Monday from a judicial source.

“The Nice public prosecutor’s office confirms that Magali Lievois married Berdah was referred on September 29, 2023 as part of a summons procedure by report for acts of bankruptcy and money laundering,” indicated the Nice public prosecutor’s office in 20 minutesconfirming information from Le Parisien. Placed in police custody last week, the “popess of influencers” was placed under judicial control with a management ban and an obligation to report pending the hearing, scheduled for December 18, 2023. Three other people placed in custody in question will also be summoned to his side.

Liabilities estimated at nearly 2.5 million euros

The facts in question were allegedly “committed in Nice and Cannes, between January 30, 2014 and July 31, 2015, notably in her capacity as de facto manager of SAS BA & CO placed in compulsory liquidation on July 30, 2015 with a liability estimated at nearly 2.5 million euros,” the prosecution further specifies. This company, which was registered in Nice, had the purpose of “insurance brokerage, financial investment advice, banking operations intermediary”.

The facts in question therefore predate the creation in 2017 of the “e-influencer” agency Shauna Events, specializing in relationships between TV personalities and brands. Magali Berdah is a figure in the controversial world of “influence” on social networks. Parliament definitively adopted a law in June aimed at regulating these practices.

This world of influence, and in particular Magali Berdah, was violently attacked by the rapper Booba, who denounced “influvoleurs” and was in return accused of cyberharassment by the boss of Shauna Events who filed a complaint. Booba was heard this Monday in Paris by an investigating judge in this case.
