Magali Berdah files a complaint against Twitter for “complicity in aggravated moral harassment”

“I feel like if I don’t die, it won’t stop. After accusing rapper Booba of having initiated a cyberbullying campaign against him on Twitter, it is against the social network that Magali Berdah, the boss of the influencer agency Shauna Events, now stands up. The high priestess of influence has filed a complaint against Twitter for “complicity in aggravated moral harassment”, these lawyers announced on Thursday in a press release.

According to Magali Berdah, Booba – whose real name is Elie Yaffa – “uses his Twitter account daily, on which he is followed by six million people, to publish disparaging, hateful, misleading messages and montages, and incite cyberbullying”. As a result, the boss of Shauna Events claims that each tweet from the rapper between a “new wave of sexist and anti-Semitic insults, incitement to suicide, calls for beheading, death threats and rape” concerning her, as well than his children and relatives. Booba would also have published, in one of his posts dated April 17, the address of the Jewish school in which the daughters of Magali Berdah are educated, add his lawyers, Antonin Gravelin-Rodriguez and Rachel-Flore Pardo.

“It destroyed my life”

For the High Priestess of Influence, Twitter is therefore complicit in this wave of cyberbullying: “No action has been taken by Twitter to put an end to the violence that I have suffered. Far from being virtual, cyberviolence has very real consequences, which can be dramatic. It destroyed my life, and I see no end to it. I feel like if I don’t die, it won’t end. Twitter must take its responsibilities,” said Magali Berdah.

“Twitter companies are fully informed of the fact that their digital platform is deliberately and daily used by Mr. Yaffa to commit these acts to the detriment of Mrs. Berdah”, specify his lawyers in the press release. “However, in this case, the Twitter companies intentionally continued to provide Mr. Yaffa with their services, refusing to suspend his Twitter account despite the steps taken in this regard and the multiple reports sent,” it added.

An investigation against Shauna Events

Since the opening of the investigation by the National Pole for the Fight against Online Hate (PNLH) on June 1, 2022, a few days after the first complaint filed by Magali Berdah in this case, 23 people have been arrested and 18 have been summoned. before the Paris Criminal Court.

For its part, the Grasse prosecutor’s office opened an investigation in September 2022 for “organized gang scam” and “misleading commercial practices” after a complaint by Booba against Shauna Events. On social networks, via his hashtag #Influvoleurs, the rapper has collected testimonials from consumers who feel cheated by Shauna Events, who have never received the products ordered or who have received counterfeits.
