Madsack takes over “Sächsische Zeitung”: Hanover buys Dresden – Media

It is not good news for Germany’s newspaper market when large publishers buy up other newspapers and the same news and comments can be read in more and more media nationwide. For the Madsack media group, however, it is the Successful news of the still young year: She takes over the DDV media group from Dresden (with the Saxon newspaper and the tabloid portal Day 24). The West German publishing giant from Hanover is thus enormously expanding its dominant position in Saxony – at least if the cartel office plays along, whose approval is still pending.
