The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron meets Thursday by videoconference about fifteen mayors “representative of the territories and political sensitivities” to take stock of the health crisis and the Covid-19 epidemic, the Elysee said on Wednesday.

These discussions, scheduled from 4 pm, “will be an opportunity to take stock of the health crisis, the deployment of the vaccine strategy, the prospects for reopening, the recovery plan as well as the preparation of regional elections”, end June, said the presidency, as France is preparing to cross the 100,000 dead mark since the start of the epidemic.

Then a meeting on reopening protocols

The Head of State will then chair, at 6 p.m., a meeting with a dozen ministers to examine the protocols for reopening the closed places, the Elysee had already announced.

New meetings with groups of elected officials are planned in the future, in the continuity of the exchanges that the President of the Republic had on March 17 with a dozen mayors “to collect their feedback from the field as well as their proposals on the management of the health crisis ”.
