The meeting in the White House is about the attacks on democracy that Brazil and the USA have survived. But that doesn’t mean that the heads of state now agree on everything.

Brazil’s former president was somewhere near Disney World in Orlando when Brazil’s current president arrived at the Washington White House. Jair Bolsonaro had fled to Florida, close to his ally Donald Trump, before Luis Inácio Lula da Silva took over again in early January. Maybe he was eating fried chicken again at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Bolsonaro is seen there occasionally. In any case, his successor was ceremoniously received by Joe Biden on Friday afternoon, the US President wore his aviator sunglasses when Lula arrived.
