According to a newspaper report, Eurowings is demanding compensation from activists of the “last generation” on behalf of all Lufthansa subsidiaries. Transport Minister Wissing announced that he wanted to tighten the aviation security law.

According to a media report, the airline Eurowings is demanding damages totaling 740,000 euros from the “Last Generation” on behalf of all Lufthansa subsidiaries. The reason is the activists’ blockades at several German airports.

Some of the accused have already been sent payment requests, reports “Bild am Sonntag”. Transport Minister Volker Wissing announced in the newspaper that in view of the incidents he wanted to campaign for the aviation security law to be tightened. He agreed with Justice Minister Marco Buschmann on this.

“Blockades of airports with the aim of disrupting the processes there far exceed the limits of legitimate protest. These are not trivial crimes either,” Wissing continued in “Bild am Sonntag”. The punishment should be tightened as quickly as possible.

Activists of the “Last Generation” had blocked airports in Berlin, Hamburg and Düsseldorf.
