Great excitement for many students in Lower Saxony: Because a school in the Harz region was broken into, there are delays in the Abitur exams in politics and economics across the country.

Because of a break-in at a school in the Harz Mountains, the written Abitur exams in the subject of politics and economics have been canceled Lower Saxony has been interrupted. Theoretically, students could have viewed the tasks in advance, a spokesman for the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture told the German Press Agency. Several media outlets had previously reported on the incident. In the Central Abitur exams, all students in a federal state are given the same tasks.

Affected schools in Lower Saxony should collect tasks again

In view of the break-in, the ministry asked the affected schools early in the morning around the start of the exam not to distribute or collect the planned exam tasks. At around 9 a.m., new tasks were then uploaded for the schools that were originally intended for a catch-up date.

Schools can now decide for themselves whether they want the exams to start later today or, if the unrest among the students is too great, to use a follow-up date, the spokesman said. If you decide to postpone, the Abitur exams in politics and economics will be written on May 8th.
