Lower Bavaria: Andreas Scheuer gives up CSU district chairmanship – Bavaria

In three weeks is political Ash Wednesday, which the CSU traditionally pompously labels as the “high mass” of Bavarian politics. If you follow this logic, Andreas Scheuer is something like the house pastor in the Passau Dreiländerhalle, where the party meets on February 22 to verbally beat up the political competition. As district head of the Niederbayern-CSU, Scheuer is entitled to the opening speech, “there is nothing nicer for a politician,” he says himself. But this time Scheuer will waive his right to speak. In an interview with the Passau New Press (PNP) he has announced his retirement as head of the CSU Niederbayern.
