With “Love is King”, Joyn is launching a dating show in a royal guise. Then the new format will premiere with Olivia Jones.
The Joyn streaming platform has announced when the historic dome show “Love is King” with Olivia Jones (52) will premiere: The first episode will be available on September 8, 2022, and users can always find more episodes on Thursdays at Joyn Plus+ . Later, “Love is King” will also be shown on linear TV on ProSieben. In the dating show, the candidates are sent on a journey through time.
Transformation into princesses and princes
The participants have to do without modern dating tools like Tinder and instead find love in the glamorous ambience of a Bavarian castle. According to the announcement, “ball evenings, pompous robes, respectful manners and communication options as once at court” await those looking for love in their royal everyday life.
Olivia Jones will “turn normal men and women into princesses and princes with my court” and give them “a total makeover,” the moderator said in a statement. Behavior coaching, poetry workshops and dance training also await the candidates.
“We want to make it easier for young people to fall in love in a safe atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, by trying the good old way again,” says Jones. As Queen of Love, she sees her task as “a mixture of cupid and chaperone”. When couples leave the castle together, they have to put their love to the test in everyday life. At the end it will turn out which dream couple will dance at the last castle ball.
