Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet were a couple since 2005 until they apparently separated 15 years later – the public only found out about this much later. The divorce is now also delayed. The former Hollywood dream couple also seems to behave in an exemplary manner.

Almost exactly two years ago, “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa and his wife Lisa Bonet publicly announced that they had separated. The actress has only now filed for divorce, as several US media outlets unanimously report.

The two stars had been together since 2005 but only married in October 2017. They have two children together – daughter Lola, born in 2007, and son Nakoa-Wolf, born in 2008. Until their separation, the actors were considered one of Hollywood’s dream couples.

Momoa and Bonet have apparently been living apart for much longer than previously thought. They officially announced their separation to the public in January 2022, but in the documents submitted, Bonet now lists the date of separation as October 7, 2020, as “People” reports. The reason noted in the application for dissolution of the marriage is the “irreconcilable differences” that are often common in Hollywood divorces.

Previously married to Lenny Kravitz

Neither side is demanding maintenance payments, and Bonet is also insisting on joint custody of the children. Further details are not known.

However, in their joint statement in January 2022, the couple had already indicated that they had separated on good terms. “The love between us continues and develops the way it wants to be recognized and lived. We give each other the freedom to be who we learn to become…” it said on Instagram at the time.

A few months after the separation was announced, rumors emerged that the “Aquaman” star was dating Mexican actress Eiza González. Bonet was married to Lenny Kravitz from 1987 to 1993. He said about his successor Momoa that he loved him: “He’s like a brother to me.”
