Mourning for the actor and comedian Louie Anderson: The world-famous US star died this Friday in a Las Vegas hospital as a result of blood cancer. This was confirmed by his spokesman Glenn Schwartz several US media. The actor was 68 years old.

Louie Anderson played the role of Maurice in “The Prince of Zamunda”

In 1984, the Minnesota native Anderson made his comedy debut on The Tonight Show, followed by several stand-up specials. The comedian also showed his talent as an actor. In 1988 he played the role of Maurice in the cult film “The Prince of Zamunda”, who works in a fast food restaurant together with the title character (Eddie Murphy). Anderson also starred in the 2021 sequel The Prince of Zamunda 2.

In 1995 he created his own animated series, Life with Louie, based on his childhood in an extended family, and a year later got his own sitcom, The Louie Show. From 1999 to 2002, Anderson hosted the game show “Family Feud”, known in this country as “Family Duel”.

After a few guest roles in series like “Scrubs”, he took on the role of Christine Baskets in the comedy series “Baskets” with Zach Galifianakis (52) from 2016 to 2019. Anderson won a Primetime Emmy Award for it.
