Having gone fishing on foot, a 74-year-old man found himself in a very bad position this Tuesday at the end of the morning in Cherrueix in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. While a thick layer of fog covered the foreshore, the septuagenarian found himself silted up to mid-thigh. Trapped, the fisherman on foot still managed to join the rescue.
With the help of oyster farmers, who came as reinforcements on board a tractor, the firefighters managed to extract the fisherman on foot from the mud. “Fortunately it was ebb tide,” said an agent from the Ille-et-Vilaine departmental fire and rescue service. Tired, the septuagenarian was taken care of on the spot by the emergency services.
