Appropriate season finale of the open-air summer
Live music and fireworks belonged together at Lollapalooza Berlin 2023.

In addition to US stars, many Berlin artists were represented at Lollapalooza Berlin, celebrating the end of the festival summer.
The festival season is coming to an end. The Acts of On September 9th and 10th, Lollapalooza Berlin gave everything they had to say goodbye. For this purpose, some musicians brought well-known guests onto the stage.
With high temperatures, visitors gathered early on the Olympic grounds on the festival days. On Saturday, rapper Ski Aggu (25), among others, rang in the musically diverse festival in the Olympic Stadium with his hits like “Friesenjung” and “Party Creme” and didn’t miss the opportunity to celebrate his home game with Domiziana (26), who had previously performed, and the common one to celebrate “Tour de Berlin”. In the afternoon, strong female voices took over the extensive grounds and the two stages set up there. These included the German singer Ayliva (25), the US great Ava Max (29) and the Swedish pop star Zara Larsson (25), who performed with his version of the ABBA hit “Lay All Your Love on Me” or the still unreleased one The song “On my love” with DJ David Guetta (55) was enthusiastic.
Surprise guests and genre diversity
The French electronic music duo The Blaze provided an atmospheric start to the evening, which was then lit up with fireworks by the British indie band Mumford & Sons. The band around Marcus Mumford (36), who not only worked on new music this summer but also played a small festival tour, were visibly looking forward to seeing the German audience again and played their hits like “Little Lion Man” and ” “I Will Wait” echo through the night sky. In the stadium, Alligatoah (33) drew the last bit of energy from the audience, who were delighted by surprise appearances by Sido (42) and Esther Graf (25) and who sang at the latest when they heard the hit “Willst du”. The evening ended on the South Stage with David Guetta, who also shot off his classics like “I’m Good (Blue)” with fireworks in the sky.
Sunday started with renewed female power in the Olympic Stadium with deep house DJ and music producer Pretty Pink (31). Anyone who is more of a fan of hip-hop beats than electronic bass was well served on the Main Stage South on the second day of the festival. The starting signal was given by rapper Luvre47, who was a little afraid to perform in front of an empty meadow due to the midday heat. But the audience didn’t miss the opportunity to perform the title song “Hinterm Block” from the film “Sonne & Beton” or “Kein Bock” together with Paula Hartmann (22), who came on stage for it, in a lyrical manner. The afternoon was a little more rocky with the British indie band Only the Poets and the Australian alternative group Chase Atlantic. The Austrian band Bilderbuch presented an excellent mix of rock and pop. Singer Maurice Ernst’s energetic stage presence captivated the audience and the atmosphere was exuberant during hits like “Machin” and “Bungalow” despite the heat.
Fellow rappers and love for Germany
Singer Jason Derulo (33) later gave a little dance class to the TikTok superhit “Savage Love” and got the audience in the party mood with alien figures sticking out of the stage ceiling, long-running radio hits, dance choreographies and a sexy hip swing. The party was continued by the Berlin music duo SDP, which got prominent support from the rap cosmos for three songs: for example Kontra K (36), FiNCH (33) and Montez (29).
Macklemore (40) also wanted to celebrate his last festival appearance of the summer in his “second home Germany”. With songs like “Can’t hold us” and “Thrift Shop”, this wasn’t a big challenge for the festival visitors. The Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies (29), who made his international breakthrough, offered a sensational conclusion with electronic sounds, a laser show and fireworks the song “Are You With Me”. The US rock band Imagine Dragons delivered a brilliant final show – including large fireworks displays.
In order not to send the weekend’s over 60,000 visitors too sadly into their festival-free time, the organizers have already announced the date for next year: On September 7th and 8th, 2024, there will be dancing and celebrating again in the Olympic Stadium and Olympic Park. Pre-sales for early bird tickets will start soon.
