After announcing a “LOL” Christmas edition, Prime Video has now also revealed the launch date.

Prime Video has the launch date of the first Christmas edition of “LOL: Last One Laughing” announced. Accordingly, the festive offshoot of the successful comedy series will be available on the streaming portal from December 22nd.

All-Stars compete against each other in double packs

Of course, the usual host Michael Bully Herbig (55) is there, who invites many well-known faces to the “LOL” mountain chalet. What’s special: In the “XMAS Special” the stars compete not as individuals, but in teams under the motto “Silent Night. Nobody Laughs”. These are: Anke Engelke (57) and Bastian Pastewka (51), Carolin Kebekus (43) and Teddy Teclebrhan (40), Martina Hill (49) and Kurt Krömer (48) as well as Michelle Hunziker (46) and Rick Kavanian (52) . It is important to avoid any laughter under the Christmas tree for more than three hours. But that’s not so easy, as the other teams of course do everything they can to get the corners of their mouths to move. Do Anke Engelke and Kurt Krömer have an advantage? This is your fourth time on the show.

The winning team of the first special edition can look forward to the “LOL-XMAS” trophy and receive 50,000 euros, which will be donated to a good cause.

A globally successful format

The first season of the German “LOL” was released in April 2021 and is the implementation of an originally Japanese format. The adaptation was so popular that three more seasons and now the Christmas special followed within two years. In 2022 there was also the German Television Award in the “Best Comedy/Late Night” category. Next year, fans can look forward to the fifth season.
