Lohr am Main: 14-year-old found dead on school grounds

A 14-year-old was found dead on Friday afternoon on the grounds of a school center in Lohr am Main in the Main-Spessart district. As the police announced in the evening, they are assuming a homicide and a suspect has been temporarily arrested.

Teenage suspect arrested

In the afternoon around 4:30 p.m., officers received an emergency call indicating a possible homicide on the school center grounds. According to the dpa, another young person reported to a police station in the afternoon and reported that an acquaintance of his had killed another person.

A Lohr police patrol then found a 14-year-old boy dead in a green area on the grounds of the school center near the B26. The teenager had injuries to his upper body, police spokesman Enrico Ball told BR24 in the evening. An emergency service was only able to determine death. It was initially unclear whether the victim was still alive when the police arrived. The background or motives are not yet known, nor is the exact course of the crime. More information will be announced tomorrow.

At around 6 p.m., the police temporarily arrested a teenage boy on strong suspicion of a crime. He is due to be brought before an investigating judge tomorrow. It is not yet known how the police were able to identify the possible perpetrator so quickly. Nor does it know whether other people are involved or witnesses to the crime. A high school, a middle school and a support center are housed on the premises of the “Zweckverband School and Sports Center Lohr”.

Parallels to similar events

The case in Lohr is reminiscent of other events this year in which children are said to have killed other children. It was only announced on Tuesday that an eleven-year-old boy was said to be responsible for the violent death of a ten-year-old girl in a children’s home in Wunsiedel, Upper Franconia. She was previously said to have been raped by a 25-year-old burglar. The man has now been charged and has largely admitted the crimes, as the police and public prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday.

The boy, on the other hand, at eleven years old, is too young to be punished for the crime attributed to him. According to the findings, he strangled the girl after the two children had argued. What this was about remained unclear at first.

But there are other cases: In March, two 12 and 13 year old girls confessed to stabbing 12 year old Luisa in Freudenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia. Both are not yet of criminal responsibility, so there will be no legal proceedings in this case. In addition, a 15-year-old was sentenced to a ten-year youth prison sentence at the end of August for the murder of a 14-year-old in Wunstorf near Hanover.
