Christian Grobmeier laughs triumphantly for a moment when the voice recorder app in Windows that is to be used to record the video call crashes: “There is also something in open source!” The 43-year-old software developer from Augsburg is convinced that the source code of computer programs does not belong to corporations, but should be freely available on the Internet – open source (open source). Because of his passion for free software, he is now very close to a historic incident that has not only haunted the open source movement since the weekend.
