Local transport in Ebersberg: A train station for Oberndorf – Ebersberg

Grafing has two, Poing and Steinhöring too, just like Vaterstetten: We are talking about train stations and now the district town is to get another one. At least when it comes to the CSU/FDP city council faction. It has now applied for the city to “contact the district of Ebersberg (…) and to express its willingness to realize another stop in Oberndorf to the Bavarian Railway Company (BEG).”

The demand has already been made by almost all parliamentary groups – since the railway closed Oberndorf station a little more than four decades ago. The current application calls for reactivation, among other things, with reference to climate protection and the necessary expansion of local public transport. According to CSU parliamentary group leader Florian Brilmayer, at least 100 entries and exits per day are necessary for a train stop, but this is “very likely” to be achieved in Oberndorf. Because in addition to the school, kindergarten and crèche, there is also the hotel and inn. In addition, Oberndorf could become an “interface between individual and local public transport” with the train station, which is why it should also be examined whether and how a park-and-ride area including e-car charging stations can be set up.

Since an additional station is also planned in the western part of the city as part of the railway expansion, Ebersberg could soon become the district municipality with the most stations – three have not yet.
