When a “fillet” is mentioned in the hair, it is not necessarily about the food. The so-called Finckwiese in the east of the municipality is often given the premium rating because it is the last large free area in the place where really great things could be created. Now this 15 hectare area once again inspires the imagination. Because the owner has developed a concept of how it could be used in the future.
Representatives of Dibag Industriebau AG, behind which the building contractor Alfons Doblinger stands, will present their plans to the local council in a special meeting next Tuesday. These should come close to what Mayor Andreas Bukowski (CSU) has outlined as a kind of “eco-industrial area”.
Worry about more traffic
The Finckwiese in Haar, which extends south of Wasserburger Strasse and east of Grasbrunner Strasse, becomes a topic at regular intervals. And then it’s not always just about hoping for lucrative business taxpayers. The residents in the wider area are then also alarmed. As most recently in 2016 and 2017, when the area was shortlisted for a location for the BMW research center, where an autonomous and, of course, fully electric vehicle type was to be developed.
At that time, the contract went to Unterschleißheim. Before that, however, Haar had experienced exciting weeks and months in which, in collaboration with Dibag, a concept for a development was drawn up in the shortest possible time in order to make the location attractive to BMW and, if possible, to protect Haarer’s interests. As far as possible, the site should remain accessible. And traffic for local residents should be limited. However, there were fears and protests were raised in town meetings.
In retrospect, Mayor Andreas Bukowski is not unhappy with how things went before his term in office. In retrospect, he believes that the BMW location in Haar could have caused “great damage”. It would have become an “erratic block”, that is, an “isolated area” in the municipality. The people who didn’t work there might not have had a lot of positives from it.
Now Bukowski, who naturally has at least a clue of what is coming, is hoping for “some exciting ideas” from the property owner. Dibag does not want to make its ideas public until the special meeting. The mayor envisions a sustainable industrial area on the Finckwiese. As Bukowski last described it, there should be life there during the day as well as at night. It should be an area in which living and working go together and clearly defined areas are also defined as ecologically high-quality space. There is currently a field there.
