LIVE – The anger of farmers and its consequences this Friday in Drôme and Ardèche

Fourth day of mobilization of farmers in Drôme-Ardèche. Actions are strengthening this Friday while the Prime Minister must speak during the day on the agricultural crisis. Traffic difficulties will increase with the two new dams at Tain-Tournon and Viviers. In anticipation, school transport has been canceled in these sectors.

The essential

  • The A7 motorway remains closed when crossing the Drôme, for the 3rd day in a row.
  • Two new dams: on the bridge between Tain-l’Hermitage (Drôme) and Tournon-sur-Rhône (Ardèche) from 5 a.m. and on the D86 at Viviers in Ardèche from 8 a.m.
  • Six dams still in place: on the Serrières bridge (Ardèche), on the Lacra in Bourg-de-Péage (Drôme), at the wind turbine roundabout in Donzère (Drôme), on the national 102 in Lanarce (Ardèche) as well as as on the A7 in Saint-Rambert-d’Albon and Loriol.

7am – Due to traffic difficulties, school transport is canceled this Friday. No school bus in Tain-Tournon. This concerns nearly 2,000 students. Students from middle and high schools in Tain, Tournon and Mercurol-Veaunes. Students from schools in Tournon, Saint-Jean-de-Muzols and the Drôme side of the Crozes-Larnage and Serves-Erôme-Gervans groups. No service either for the schools of Teil, Cruas, Limony and Serrières. Nor from Ardèche towards Montélimar. Boarding students (nearly 700 affected in Ardèche) will be picked up by school transporters at midday.

6:15 a.m. – The A7 motorway remains closed when crossing the Drôme. Two farmers’ roadblocks have been in place, in Saint-Rambert-d’Albon since Tuesday, and in Loriol. The tractors which were blocked near Montélimar on Wednesday returned to Loriol this Thursday. A small portion of the A7 motorway was reopened to traffic for a few hours on Thursday afternoon, between Montélimar Nord and Montélimar Sud, to relieve traffic on secondary roads. But the authorities completely closed the tracks in the evening.

5:30 a.m. – Farmers from rural coordination take position on the Toursier bridge between Tain-l’Hermitage and Tournon-sur-Rhône. It is the busiest bridge over the Rhône in Drôme-Ardèche with more than 20,000 vehicles per day. To avoid adding buses to traffic jams, Arche Agglo suspended school transport this Friday in Tain-Tournon.
