Storm Domingos begins to hit Brittany

Storm Domingos reached the French coast. This morning, the wind is already blowing strongly in Brittany, around 80km/h, and creating strong waves, particularly in Morbihan.

If the storm promises to be less severe than the previous one, it arrives when Ciaran has barely left French territory, which suggests damage to already fragile areas.

Candles, gas-heated water: many residents still without electricity in the West

Resourcefulness. In Finistère, Mathilde, a resident of the town of Keremma, found herself without electricity after the passage of storm Ciaran.

She tells BFMTV that she is forced to light with candles and heat water with gas, while her fridge is no longer powered.

At Marie and Jean’s, still in Finistère, we occupy our evenings as best we can by playing games of Scrabble by candlelight.

Italy, France, Portugal… Storm Ciaran killed at least 16 people across Europe

The death toll from Storm Ciaran in Europe rose yesterday to 16 deaths. Italy is the most affected country with 6 deaths, while France has 2.

Falling trees caused by violent gusts of wind are the cause of several fatal accidents: 2 victims in Belgium – including a Ukrainian child who was playing outside in Ghent – 2 in France, one in the center of Madrid, one in Germany and a seventh in the Netherlands.

In Portugal, it was the strong swell caused by Ciaran on the Atlantic Ocean which caused the death of 3 people in the sinking of a sailboat flying the Danish flag which ran aground on a beach in the center of the country.

At least two dead after storm Ciaran passes through France

As Storm Domingos approaches, Storm Ciaran has already caused extensive material damage in the west of the country and resulted in the death of two people.

We note the disappearance of a septuagenarian who suffered a fatal fall in Le Havre due to violent winds, and a truck driver killed in Aisne by the fall of a tree on the road, which he could not avoid.
