STORY

The last Companion of the Liberation, who died on October 12, will be buried at 2:30 p.m. at Mont-Valérien, a high place of national memory, where an empty vault, number 9, had been waiting for him for decades in the crypt of the memorial of the France fighting.

ADVANCEMENT OF THE CORTÈGE

Hubert Germain’s coffin is placed on the AMX-10 armored tank called “Bir Hakeim”, in the courtyard of the Invalides. The procession begins to advance to then cross the Seine via the Alexandre III bridge and reach the Champs-Élysées. He will take a symbolic break in front of the statue of General de Gaulle.
