LONDON RESPONDS TO MOSCOW
After Russia’s accusations of UK involvement in Nord Stream explosions, London denounces “false claims” to “divert attention”.
“To distract from its disastrous handling of the unlawful invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense is resorting to spreading false claims on an epic scale,” UK Defense tweeted.
MOSCOW ACCUSES LONDON
Russia accuses the UK of helping prepare for the drone attack on Crimea. “The preparation for this terrorist act and the training of the military personnel of the 73rd Ukrainian center for special maritime operations were carried out by British specialists based in Ochakov, in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine,” the Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram.

The Russian army blames Ukraine for the drone attack on its fleet in Crimea. This caused “minor damage” to a Russian ship.

FROZEN RUSSIAN ASSETS
Some 17 billion euros in assets of Russian oligarchs and entities have been frozen in the European Union, across seven member states, European Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders announced on Saturday. “So far, the assets of 90 people have been frozen, amounting to more than 17 billion euros in seven Member States, including 2.2 billion in Germany,” he said in an interview with the German group’s media. DEATH OF A JOURNALIST
A journalist from a Russian state media was killed in an accident during a shooting exercise on a military training ground in Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula annexed in 2014 by Russia, announced its editorial staff.
Svetlana Babaeva, head of the Crimean branch of the media conglomerate Rossia Segodnia, “died on one of the military training grounds in Crimea, where shooting exercises were carried out”, said the media, quoted by the agencies. The Russian Navy has repelled a drone attack in Sevastopol Bay against the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the governor of this city on the annexed Crimean peninsula has said.

NEW US AID
