LIVE – Nice-Monaco: the Monegasques offer themselves the derby, the Aiglons still in the tough

Success for Monaco in the derby!

Nice operation and narrow success for Monaco on the lawn of rival Nice (0-1), too timid for the first of their Delort-Laborde doublet. Preserved by the good match of Alexander Nübel, author of several parades, the Monegasques ended up scoring on their first shot on target – late – from Breel Embolo (69th). Before the C3, the men of Philippe Clement, tenth, integrate the first part of the table, with the same number of points as Rennes. Sixteenth, the Aiglons are still slow to really launch their season.

Additional time

While Diop had managed to enter the area and strike, a crushed shot captured by Nübel, the fourth referee signals 4 minutes of extra time.

Change for Monaco

Out of Golovin, who gave a lot. He is replaced by Jakobs in the left lane.

First save of the game for Schmeichel

It passes for Caio Henrique who strikes and goes there alone. The Brazilian side takes his chance from outside the area, Schmeichel lies down on this ball.

Embolo is on the ground

The scorer of the match remains on the ground and requests the intervention of the trainers, slightly touched. He should be able to finish the game.

Nice can’t do it

We no longer see the Aiglons really approaching the surface of Nübel. The latest changes have not brought much, Diop or Beka Beka not providing the necessary binder to the discreet Delort-Laborde doublet in front.

State

Monaco have not lost any of their last 7 trips to Ligue 1 (5 wins, 2 draws), the best current series with Paris and the longest series for ASM in the top flight since December 2017-April 2018 (7 also).

Double change for Nice

Diop finds his former teammates, while Bryan begins his first with the Gym. Bard and Grandpa exit.

It’s urgent for the Aiglons

The people of Nice must wake up, the Monegasques have really got their hands on the game now. Rosario has been fairly non-existent in the debates since entering the break, Nice lost in the exchange compared to Thuram.

State

It’s the second goal of the season in Ligue 1 for Embolo, preferred to Ben Yedder tonight. The Swiss agreed with his coach.

BUUUUUT D’EMBOLO, 0-1 FOR MONACO!!!

It only took one in Monaco to open the scoring!!! While ASM still had no shot on target, Embolo catapults a superb cross from Caio Henrique with a header from close range, the Monegasques find the fault!!

VAR does not change anything

Finally, Bard’s hand is not sanctioned since Fofana’s offside is well validated. The game resumes.

Change for Monaco… and VAR

Aguilar leaves, replaced by Vanderson. Meanwhile, the video refereeing is going back to the previous action… A Bard hand could be whistled, but inside or outside the box?

Goal denied to Fofana! (0-0)

Corner for ASM on the left. Diatta volleys from outside the area, his blocked shot arrives at Fofana who controls then scores. But the Monegasque environment is logically flagged offside.

What a rescue from Nübel!! (0-0)

What a fantastic intervention from Nübel, who comes out going to bed at a thousand an hour on this recovery a few meters from Dante’s goal!! The Nice defender had been forgotten at the far post on a placed attack.

High level defenses

If this derby is slow to be released, it should be noted the good work of the two respective defenses, rarely caught out. The Dante-Todibo-Viti and Sarr-Badiashile-Disasi triplets work well.

Diatta strikes wide

Small festival of the twirling Monegasque who has fun with Viti on the right and finds himself in a striking position. His violent attempt from the left passes a few meters aside.

Change for the people of Nice

To loud applause, Beka Beka replaces Ramsey in the middle. A sector that has therefore been completely renewed.

Viti with mastery

Very good defensive intervention from young Viti, one of the Gym’s recruits. The Italian defender is quick on his support in front of his surface to repel Diatta who was attacking him.

Post for Monaco… and offside

Golovin had admired his technical quality in the opposing area and had smashed the post with a shot on the ground. The Russian was offside at the start of the action anyway.

Yellow card for Rosario

Bad intervention from the newcomer, who holds on to the Fofana shorts and knocks him down. Card distributed for this anti-game action.

Very good start to the Gym

The Niçois have been putting a lot of pressure on the Monegasques since the resumption. ASM struggles to get out of an opposing offensive that goes from one corner of its surface to the other.

Here we go again at the Allianz Riviera! (0-0)

A change to note at the break, Thuram gave way to Rosario in the middle. Maybe a physical glitch? We also expect Ben Yedder who should come in the second half.

It’s the break in this derby! (0-0)

The Allianz Riviera is boiling but this derby, rough, took time to get started on the ground. The Monegasques have their hands on the ball but dominate a little too sterilely, only Alexander Golovine showing himself to be dangerous (41st). The Niçois have obtained a few situations (13th, 29th), but are losing the battle in the middle for the moment. Youcef Atal was injured after half an hour.

Additional time

Three additional minutes are announced by the fourth referee.

Dante’s Headbutt

The Niçois are positioned high on the pitch and take advantage of it. Thuram’s cross is deflected with a header by Pépé, which benefits Dante at the far post. The defender places a head kick which arrives directly at Nübel.

Bard is slow to get up

Big aerial duel between Diatta and Bard, who is unbalanced at the top of his jump by his opponent and falls heavily. The Niçois is struggling to recover.

Golovin opens his foot too much! (0-0)

What an opportunity for Monegasques! Launched by a subtle and very well felt deviation from Embolo, Golovine sinks into the surface and opens his right foot. A little too much, it passes right next to the post!

Yellow card for Camara

The Monegasque environment is sanctioned by the referee, he who had come, like many of his partners, to contest an arbitration decision.

The Monegasques do not fit

Monaco continue to press and nibble space in the opposing half. On a placed attack, Badiashile sees his shot blocked, before Golovin sends a half-volley in the air.

Hard blow for the people of Nice and Atal, who leaves

The Algerian piston will not be able to continue. He leaves, replaced by the versatile Lotomba.

The (new) tile for Atal

Accustomed to physical glitches, Atal remains on the ground along the sideline. The piston requested the change after accelerating, coming to a dead stop.

Grandpa’s big volley! (0-0)

It was enough to say that we did not see Grandpa for the former Gunner to stand out! Served by a clever delivery from Delort in the area, the Ivorian did not ask any questions and fired an overpowering volley that Nübel captured in two stages thanks to his good positioning!

State

The record of confrontations (9) between Nice and Monaco at the Allianz Riviera in Ligue 1 is perfectly balanced: 4 successes each, while the most recent ended in a draw (2-2 in September 2021).

Monaco is gaining momentum

The Niçois abuse long balls, and struggle to settle in the opposing half or to find Pépé in particular. The Monegasques took the lead in this meeting, but must now be dangerous for Schmeichel.

Fofana and Ramsey do not let go

There has been a big physical duel between Fofana and Ramsey for a few minutes. The two men seek and gauge each other, the Monegasque is at the limit on his new muscular intervention on the Welshman.

Dante in the right place

Very good intervention from the Brazilian central defender, who pulls out from the top of his mop of hair a very dangerous cross from the left. Embolo lagged behind.

Camara impacting

The Monegasques grow bolder over the minutes, and begin to win in the middle battle. Camara is valuable in the heart of the game.

The lenient referee with Fofana

Small call to order from referee Fofana, who voluntarily came to prevent Ramsey from taking a free kick quickly. Next time it’s yellow.

The first firecracker is from Nice! (0-0)

Good projection of the Aiglons with a lot of work from Laborde which transplants towards the axis. He sees the tumble of Atal on the right and serves it. The piston unleashes a heavy uncontrolled strike that Nübel captures in two stages!

Thuram good at reading

Badiashile tries to break the lines with a low pass on the ground towards his attackers, but Thuram reads the trajectory well and recovers in the middle.

It’s derby atmosphere

Both players and supporters are quite excited. The contacts are numerous and frank, the encouragement is boiling for the Niçois, who leave the ball a little more to the Monegasques now.

Nübel is not shy

A bit hazardous exit from Nübel, who goes to seek Delort to the outside of the surface and forces him to move away to center then. Laborde’s handing over of the head does not benefit a Niçois afterwards.

Les Aiglons take matters into their own hands

Under the explosions of several pyrotechnic devices, we find Nice in possession of the ball since the start of the match, and who seek to project themselves quickly in front.

Let’s go to the Allianz Riviera! (0-0)

It was the Monegasques who kicked off this closing match of the 6th day of Ligue 1!

Kick-off is imminent!

The players entered the lawn of a boiling Allianz Riviera, accompanied by the referee of the meeting, Benoît Millot.

And a surprise with the presentation of a brand new recruit from Nice!

It was Ross Barkley, left free by Chelsea, who officially joined the Aiglons. The English international has just been introduced to the Allianz Riviera.

ASM must take off

Monaco, for its part, remains on a surprise defeat against Troyes, at home. Philippe Clement’s players have not won in L1 since the first day.

The Aiglons finally launched?

Nice finally found colors by going to win, Wednesday during the previous day, on the lawn of LOSC (1-2). After this first success of the season, Lucien Favre’s Aiglons will want to continue in this derby that smells of powder.

The Monegasque eleven

Surprise, Wissam Ben Yedder on the bench. Breel Embolo is the starter, surrounded by Alexandre Golovine and Krépin Diatta.

The composition of Nice with Laborde holder

Reformation of the Laborde-Delort duo, this time in Nice. Nicolas Pépé accompanies them in front. Aaron Ramsey and Khéphren Thuram are lined up in the middle.

A derby of misclassified

Nice and Monaco, two ambitious people who are having a complicated start to the season. Because tonight, it is the 14th who faces the 16th.

The people of Nice have arrived

With the latest recruit from Rennes, Gaëtan Laborde.
