Live music in Emmering – rock and blues from our own pen – Ebersberg

After a long, Corona-related break, with a new band member and many new songs Rudi Baumann and friends next Sunday, August 22nd, in the beer garden of the Gasthaus Bichler in Emmering, you can finally pursue your favorite pastime again: live music. From 5 p.m. onwards there will be folk, rock, blues and more – but no cover versions, only self-written ones. And the best thing is: The band is celebrating an anniversary this year, or at least a reunion.

In the summer of 1971, exactly 50 years ago, four young boys from Grafing and Ebersberg decided to start a band. Rehearsals were allowed in the cellar of the Protestant church in Ebersberg – and the musical direction was clear: It should rock! In the following months the first own songs were written and rehearsed with great devotion. In the autumn of the following year there was the first appearance at a “Beat Party” with four bands in the gym of the Piusheim near Glonn. In addition to Walter Springer and Richard Martin, who have not been musically active for a long time, Gerald Weinhart and Rudi Baumann were in this band who The Suburb was called. In the following years until 1986 Weinhart and Baumann were together with the bands New Selection and the legendary The Gentles On the way.

Now the joy is great that after a short break of 35 years the collaboration between the two musicians is reviving, as Weinhart, singer and guitarist, has joined Rudi Baumann and friends as a permanent member. Since last year Michael Hofmann, who has also been with the Gentles for ten years, has been on the drums, you can almost speak of a “reunion”. The successful and joyful musical collaboration with Helmut Zeller on bass began 20 years ago in the band Littleville and continues to this day, also in side projects like the Beatles Roof Top Band. As often as her schedule allows, like next Sunday in Emmering, the fantastic Marina Lampl reinforces the gracefully aged men’s quartet with her powerful singing. So now the weather just has to play along.
