LIVE – F1 / Monaco GP: good start for Verstappen, Ocon still on the podium

8/78: fastest lap for Perez

Still 18th, the Mexican has the best provisional race lap after eight all.

6/78: Verstappen widens the gap

The world champion is 2 seconds behind the Spaniard. Ocon remains third, one second ahead of Sainz.

5.Hamilton

6. Leclerc

7. Gasly

8.Russell

9. Tsunoda

10. Norris

3/78: Russell under investigation

For a bad position during the start.

2/78: already three single-seaters in the pits

Stroll, Hulkenberg and Perez pit to hard tires.

1/78: IT’S ON FOR THIS MONACO GP!

Defensive position for Alonso to counter a possible attack from Ocon, Verstappen keeps the lead. No great teaching in the first corner. It hit for Stroll, who slipped to 18th place.

Let’s go for the formation lap

Watch out for the weather, which could play a bad trick. The sky becomes grayer on the side of the Principality. Some riders have chosen to start on medium (Verstappen, Ocon), others on hard (Alonso, Sainz).

Leaving in 10 minutes!

The drivers are finishing their preparation and are going to position themselves on the grid.

The Monegasque anthem rings out

Prince Albert II is present alongside Princess Charlene.

The parade of stars continues in Monaco

Marco Verrati is there, as are Kasper Schmeichel, David Alaba, Teddy Riner, Bad Bunny or Orlando Bloom.

Finally the end of the curse of Charles Leclerc?

Penalized by three places on the starting grid (6th), Charles Leclerc will have to fight to get a good result at home. Especially since the Monegasque is cursed in front of his public. In four participations, the Ferrari driver retired three times and finished fourth once.

It was last year, after taking pole. The victory had gone to Sergio Perez.

Towards a new victory for Red Bull?

Winner of all the Grand Prix since the start of the season (three victories for Verstappen and two for Sergio Perez), Red Bull again has a good shot to play this Sunday. But beware, the poleman has not always been successful on the Rock…

OM players Cengiz Under and Sead Kolasinac also present

Marseille’s Cengiz Under and Sead Kolasinac are also there for the GP, as are FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Youri Djorkaeff. Also seen on the Rock: Florent Manaudou, Fabio Quartararo, Alain Prost, Jean Alesi, Nico Rosberg…

Neymar present with Red Bull

The Monaco Grand Prix always attracts beautiful people. The PSG striker, Neymar, thus went to pass a head in the premises of the Red Bull team (brand with which he collaborates).

F2: Arthur Leclerc no luckier than his brother at home

Having crashed into the wall in qualifying, Charles Leclerc’s little brother, Arthur, will not be able to start the race in F2 due to a brake problem on his single-seater.

Charles Leclerc penalized

Charles Leclerc had obtained 3rd place in qualifying for the Monaco GP on Saturday, but he suffered a three-place penalty for an incident with Lando Norris, and gave it up to Frenchman Esteban Ocon. Leclerc will therefore start 6th this Sunday afternoon.
