LIVE – Disappearance of Lina in Alsace: two new searches organized this Thursday

The gendarmerie “encourages people who were around the ponds on Saturday” to contact them

“We receive a lot of calls” since the broadcast of the call for witnesses launched after Lina’s disappearance, indicates Colonel Marie-Laure Pezant, spokesperson for the gendarmerie on BFMTV this morning.

“We have sorting work to find out whether the elements can contribute anything to the investigation or not,” continues the gendarmerie spokesperson.

Five days after the disappearance of the 15-year-old girl, “we are still encouraging people who were around the ponds or who could have been in this area on Saturday to contact us if they have not already done so” , says Colonel Marie-Laure Pezant.

“Even someone who saw nothing in the times when Lina was likely to be there,” adds the spokesperson. These calls may provide information to the investigation.

Two search operations organized in Plaine this Thursday

New search operations are being organized today in Plaine, five days after Lina’s disappearance.

“The sweep will be carried out by gendarmes with a very precise method and a keen eye,” indicates Colonel Marie-Laure Pezant, spokesperson for the gendarmerie on BFMTV.

The mobilized gendarmes will comb the areas already covered during citizen raids and previous sweeps.

“We remain in the areas that have been defined because they were defined from the start based on the elements that we had in our possession,” explains the gendarmerie spokesperson.

“Depending on the testimonies, we will be able to cover new areas,” adds Colonel Marie-Laure Pezant.

Around ten people cared for by the psychological emergency unit in Plaine

“Around ten people showed up” at the psychological emergency unit opened Wednesday in Plaine to help residents who feel the need after Lina’s disappearance, said Dominique Mastelli, head of the emergency unit in BFM Alsace.

“When this cell was opened, it already had scheduled meetings and actions,” he added. “People also showed up spontaneously.”

“I’m afraid something serious has happened to her”: the concern of Lina’s friends

Concern is growing among those close to the young woman. Léa, a friend of the teenager, speaks this Wednesday about her state of mind while all leads continue to be explored by investigators.

Divers found nothing during their search on Wednesday

On Wednesday, a team of divers from Strasbourg surveyed two ponds on Wednesday afternoon. Several vehicles from the gendarmerie and specialized teams from Strasbourg arrived on the scene shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday. A German police van was also part of the convoy.

The divers then methodically surveyed the two Breux ponds, along which a cycle path passes that Lina should have taken on Saturday.

Under the eyes of a few relatives and numerous journalists, the divers, divided into small groups, explored the area until around 6:30 p.m. Ten personnel, including seven divers, took part in the search, which turned up nothing.

The entourage hearings continue

Several friends of the 15-year-old girl were interviewed with their parents, sometimes even several times, according to information from BFMTV from corroborating sources.

One of her friends is currently being interviewed by investigators who will continue this work of collecting testimonies in the coming days.

80 gendarmes mobilized for this Thursday

During the day, 80 gendarmes will be mobilized to carry out two new search operations in the area where Lina disappeared, announced Wednesday the public prosecutor of Saverne, Aline Clérot.

After several days of research, investigators are still exploring all the hypotheses, according to information from BFMTV confirmed by the Saverne prosecutor’s office.

According to a source close to the investigation, the teenager’s voluntary departure cannot still be ruled out.
