Covid-19: the latest figures in France
While Emmanuel Macron is due to speak this Tuesday evening to discuss the health situation in particular, the epidemic is returning to the national territory.
According to the latest data from Public Health France, the national incidence rate now stands at 75 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the last seven days (+ 23%).
In addition, 6,865 people are hospitalized in France for a Covid-19 infection – an increase of 3% over one week – including 1,140 patients in critical care (+ 7% over seven days).
Over a week, an average of nearly 80 daily critical care entries are recorded. Finally, 36 daily deaths from Covid-19 have on average been recorded in France over the past seven days.
Green light from the Sages for the extension of the health pass until July 31, 2022
The Constitutional Council on Tuesday issued a favorable opinion on the bill “health vigilance” which provides for the extension of the health pass until July 31. In parallel with this decision, the Wise Men, however, retested access for school directors to the vaccination status of students.
Emmanuel Macron should in particular include in the latter the third dose of vaccine against Covid-19 for people over 65 years of age.

For his first speech since July 12, the President of the Republic should, in addition to discussing the health situation, address various economic and social aspects.
Thus Emmanuel Macron should specify the possible integration of the third dose in the health pass for people over 65 years old but also unveil the intentions of the executive in terms of pensions, a few months before the presidential election.
