A BABY AND HIS MOM SAVED FROM DECOMBERS
According to the firefighters on the spot, a crying baby was heard by the rescue teams and could be located by the dogs of the dog team. After 2 hours of work and the creation of a tunnel, the firefighters managed to extract the baby and his mother alive. “He is currently supported by teams from Samu who are on the spot. He is doing well,” Colonel Eric Grohin of the Var fire department said during a press briefing. The mother is however in “absolute urgency”.
The dad, “unconscious” according to AFP information, was also located in the rubble and his extraction is in progress.
Two other people are still wanted. Interviewed by LCI, the mayor of the city, Daniel Alsters, speaks of two people “of a certain age”.
During the explosion, 5 people managed to quickly extract themselves from the rubble, while 5 were buried.

According to the third press release from the prefecture of Var, just published, three people are still under the rubble. 5 people, including a mother and her baby extracted from the rubble of the building, were taken care of.
