It’s time! Luke Littler celebrates his first win in the Premier League on matchday 9. The 17-year-old rewarded himself for a consistently strong evening and deservedly beat Nathan Aspinall 6-4 in the final.

At the beginning “The Nuke”, who played an average of 99.44 points, had slight difficulties with Aspinall (97.13) and was even behind 1:3 at times. But his magical finish in the sixth leg, when he scored 125 points via single bull and checked bullseye twice, brought him back into business. In the end, Littler missed three match darts, and the fourth landed safely in the double five.

Humphries misses Premier League record

Previously, Littler had not only beaten Michael van Gerwen 6-3 in the semi-finals, but also prevailed in a thrilling exchange of blows against Luke Humphries. In the new edition of the World Cup final, the decision was only made in the decider; the teenager ultimately defeated his compatriot 6:5.

Littler thus ended the unbeaten streak of the world champion, who had previously won three weekly titles in a row. Humphries could have become the first player to win four Premier League weekly titles in a row.

Humphries still remains in first place in the table with 22 points. His first pursuer is now Littler, who has four points less on his account and is therefore just ahead of van Gerwen and Aspinall.

Van Gerwen ends the negative series – Price is out again

Van Gerwen had at least returned in the quarter-finals after a series of four defeats. The Dutchman was 2-4 behind in his match against Michael Smith before he turned the tide. Van Gerwen was able to win all four following legs. And the special highlight: his last three arrows. The 34-year-old scored a whopping 150 points for a 6:4 victory.

However, there was another blow in the neck for Gerwyn Price, who lost out in a close game against Nathan Aspinall (5:6). The “Iceman” (99.55) even achieved a higher average than his English competitor (94.06). Price was only in seventh place in the table before the start of the match day and now has to worry even more about making it into the playoffs.

Peter Wright, the current bottom of the Premier League, has once again sent a sign of life. Against a desolate Rob Cross, whose average was sometimes below 80 points, Wright clearly asserted himself 6:3 – only his second win of the current season.

The semi-final was the final stage for Wright. In a one-sided game (2:6) he was eliminated by Aspinall, who reached a final for the fourth time this year.
