On his 50th birthday in 2014, Hape Kerkeling largely disappeared from the scene. Recently he has been more active again, for example on RTL or as a voice actor. There is also a new book coming out for his 60th.

Shortly before his 60th birthday, comedian and best-selling author Hape Kerkeling is planning to publish a new book. “Releases on September 25th Hape Kerkeling’s new book “Give me some time. My chronicle of events” was announced by Piper Verlag in Munich.

This time he “enjoys interweaving memories with research, his own experiences with history and genealogical research.” Kerkeling was born on December 9th in Recklinghausen. In particular, his books “I’m away – My journey on the Way of St. James” (2006) and “The boy needs to get some fresh air – My childhood and I” (2014) were million-sellers.

In his new book, Kerkeling talks touchingly and with a sense of comedy about his childhood in the 70s, the heyday of television entertainment, about love, providence and the Golden Age of the Netherlands, announced Piper. Kerkeling takes you back to the beginnings of his TV career and follows the footsteps of his ancestors back to the flourishing Amsterdam of the 17th century. “And finally discovers an incredible secret that surrounded his beloved grandmother Bertha throughout her life.”
