A US club wants to use its relationships and bring Lionel Messi to the MLS. The club counts on chances.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi is in hot demand in the US. Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas has revealed his team will be ‘pushing’ to sign Messi.

Mas hinted that David Beckham’s good relationship with Messi could help seal a deal.

‘We would like to see Messi as a player at Inter Miami’

“Leo Messi is still one of the best players in the world, his skills haven’t diminished. David has a relationship with him and if he leaves PSG we would like to see Lionel Messi as a player at Inter Miami,” said Mas.

Beckham, who founded Inter Miami with Mas in 2018, also commented on a possible move: “I’ve always said that I want the best players to play in our club and in our jersey because there are certain expectations .”

Messi still has a contract with PSG until 2023

Beckham continued: “When I started this project, people said: ‘This guy is coming, that guy is coming, Ronaldo is coming, Messi is coming’. At the end of the day, we have to win, whether it’s with the young players or with the stars.”

Messi only switched from FC Barcelona to PSG on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. His contract there runs until 2023. So far, however, the 34-year-old has only been able to build on old heydays to a limited extent.
