Animal rights activists try to feed him meat impaled on a stick… but the lion is too weak to get up. It is clear to see that he is completely undernourished.
The sad scene was captured at a zoo in Nigeria. Not the only lion who is at the end of his strength.
There are currently a total of three lions in a similar condition to the one shown above, along with five hyenas, three crocodiles, three ostriches and several primates, all of whom are in dire need of help.
The state zoo lacks the resources to provide food for the animals and adequate veterinary care for the animals.
Many animals were stolen from the zoo by locals, as evidenced by citizen footage. The German animal protection organization Wild at Life eV, which is based in Nigeria, depends on donations.
