Linus Straßer third in the night slalom in Madonna – Sport

Ski racer Linus Straßer crashed onto the podium in the night slalom in Madonna di Campiglio. The man from Munich, who recently became a father for the first time, took third place at the traditional Italian event on Thursday evening. For the 30-year-old, it was the ninth podium in a World Cup individual race in his career.

At the finish, Straßer was 0.18 seconds behind Swiss winner Daniel Yule. Second was the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen (+0.08 seconds). Kristoffersen’s compatriot Lucas Braathen, who had won in Val d’Isère, dropped from first to fourth in the second race.

The slalom course in Madonna di Campiglio is considered to be one of the most demanding on the Alpine World Cup calendar. The slope gradient is up to 70 percent. The next men’s slalom will take place on January 4th in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
