The premiere of the “Girls Club” remake with Lindsay Lohan is causing rumors. Does the original actress make a guest appearance?

Lindsay Lohan (37) gives the musical adaptation of her cult film “Girls Club – Be careful!” (Original title: “Mean Girls”) her blessing. The actress stopped by the Mean Girls premiere party in New York on Monday (January 8). The new mother walked across the carpet in a black dress, which was pink instead of red to match the film.

In 2004, Lindsay Lohan starred in “Girls Club – Be careful!” 16-year-old Cady Heron, who gets caught between different groups at her new high school. A year after “Freaky Friday,” the film cemented Lindsay Lohan’s status as a teen idol – before she crashed and became a scandalous noodle.

In 2018, “Mean Girls”, the original title of “Girls Club – Be careful!”, came to Broadway as a musical. The film adaptation of the stage show will be released in cinemas in the USA on January 12, 2024. The musical remake under the title “Mean Girls – The Girls Club” is scheduled to start in Germany on January 25th.

Lindsay Lohan’s cameo appearance in the musical remake?

Lindsay Lohan’s presence at the premiere party sparked speculation. Does the main actress from the original make a guest appearance in the remake? Variety asked Tina Fey (53) after. The comedian wrote the screenplay for both the 2004 version and the remake and played teacher Ms. Norbury in both films.

But Tina Fey didn’t want to reveal anything. “I can’t possibly say, but we have some fun cameos,” was all she said. She didn’t name names.

In addition to Lindsay Lohan, Daniel Franzese (45) and Rajiv Surendra also attended the premiere. Franzese played Cady’s friend Damian in “Girls Club”, while Surendra played math whiz Kevin.
