Four-year-old in daycare died from toy strangulation

According to an autopsy, the child died from strangulation in a daycare center in Limburgerhof. The investigators assume an accident and are checking whether supervisory duties were violated.
After the death of a four-year-old girl in a daycare center in Limburgerhof (Rhine-Palatinate district), investigators continue to assume that it was an accident. According to the autopsy results, the child died of strangulation, the police and public prosecutor’s office said on Monday. Accordingly, the four-year-old strangled herself on a slide with a so-called pot stilt.
Limburgerhof: Girl died on Thursday
The children’s toys are cans each with a ribbon that can be balanced on. The public prosecutor’s office and the police are now checking whether the daycare center’s duty of supervision could have been violated. The girl was found lifeless outside the facility last Thursday. Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.
