After Lionel Messi, the next big star is leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

Spain’s defensive icon Sergio Ramos is leaving Paris Saint-Germain after two years. This was announced by the French soccer champion.

Ramos came to PSG from Real Madrid in 2021, but after his great successes with Spain’s record champions, he was unable to ensure that the ambitious club from the French capital won the Champions League for the first time. This season the end came in the round of 16 against FC Bayern Munich.

In the statement, Ramos spoke of an unforgettable adventure at PSG, where he won two league titles and the French Supercup. Club boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi thanked the 37-year-old former world and European champion and wished him the best for the future. Ramos should play his last game in the evening (9 p.m.) at home against Clermont Foot.

After Lionel Messi, the next star from Paris says goodbye in Ramos. The 35-year-old world champion from Argentina also worked for PSG for two years after leaving the financially ailing FC Barcelona. Where Messi will play in the future is still unclear. It is also still uncertain whether the Brazilian Neymar, who was injured for a long time, will continue to play in Paris in the coming season. French striker Kylian Mbappé, on the other hand, says he will stay.
