It is a peace offering that Min Aung Hlaing, head of the Myanmar junta, is considering releasing Aung San Suu Kyi from prison to house arrest once all of her sentences have been passed. In June she was transferred to a prison in the capital, Naypyidaw, where she is being held in solitary confinement.
