The food delivery service Lieferando will in future be able to offer its couriers unlimited employment contracts. On the one hand, this applies immediately to newly hired employees, as the company announced on Friday. On the other hand, the approximately 10,000 existing drivers will also be offered unlimited contracts. Although their fixed-term employment has usually been extended, the new contracts offer more security, it said. The aim is to set a new industry standard. Lieferando has been relying on the regular employment of couriers since the start of the delivery service in 2016. In the industry, however, these are often classified as independent entrepreneurs. Politicians are repeatedly calling for better employment conditions for the drivers of Lieferando, Gorillas and Co.
