A man is said to have removed, exchanged and stolen the license plates from more than two dozen cars in Coburg. The police said on Tuesday that the 51-year-old had already exchanged or stolen the license plates for ten cars on the night of Saturday. On the night of Tuesday, he was observed by a witness doing the same thing and holding several number plates.
After a subsequent search, however, the man was found without the signs and arrested by the police. The man is being investigated in a total of 25 cases on suspicion of license plate theft and document forgery. The officials are currently looking for other witnesses – and the missing license plates.
