LG with OLED TVs and completely wireless control

The 97-inch OLED TV M3 from LG shows 4K resolution. In order to bring video and audio signals with up to 120 Hz to the big screen, the signal sources are connected to the external “Zero Connect Box”; From there you can wirelessly connect to the TV via WLAN. The TV tuner is also in the small box. If you hang the TV display on the wall with the supplied bracket, (almost) no cables get in the way – but you have to supply electricity separately.

The wireless concept with Zero Connect Box is not only reminiscent of Samsung’s “One Connect Box”. This sends all the data, including the electricity, to the TV via a single, semi-transparent cable. The idea behind it is the same: the TV screen should stand or hang as freely as possible and without a tangled mess of cables.

When the wireless 97 incher is hanging on the wall, there are no signal cables to get in the way. However, power still has to be routed conventionally to the display.

In addition, LG is of course also presenting “completely normal” OLED TVs, namely the new Evo G3 models. Thanks to the Brightness Boost, these should shine even brighter than the manufacturer’s previous models – an increase of over 70 percent. As usual, they support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and multi-channel surround sound with IMAX Enhanced.

The 2023 models have a new WebOS interface with various optimization options in the “All New Home” area. These include so-called Quick Cards, which give users quick access to the preferred or most frequently used content, services and apps. The AI Picture Wizard should allow personal image optimization using a few selection options. There is also a recommendation AI that suggests a curated list of new content based on usage behavior.

All new LG OLED TVs are HDMI 2.1a compliant and support Quick Media Switching VRR announced by the HDMI organization. QMS-VRR should enable seamless switching between signal sources on HDMI 2.1a without seeing a black screen in between. Of course, the fast OLEDs with a gray switching time of just 0.1 milliseconds and low latencies are also suitable for gaming. The integrated game optimizer should find the right picture setting depending on the game genre. It also gives you quick access to presets such as Nvidia G-Sync, FreeSync Premium or the variable refresh rate VRR.

In addition, LG also shows very classic gaming monitors with OLED panels.
