LFI: MP Alexis Corbière in “radical disagreement” with the new management

The deputy Alexis Corbière, historical figure of rebellious France, affirmed this Friday December 16 to be in “radical disagreement” with the new direction of the party, which misses, according to him, of “consensus”.

Turbulence among the Insoumis. While Manuel Bompart, the man in the shadows hidden behind efficiency Presidential campaigns of Jean-Luc Mélenchonshould be officially designated coordinator of insubordinate France, Alexis Corbière, another historical figure of the party, disputes in the columns of the World this new direction and denounces a lack of “consensus”.

“I have a radical disagreement with the result, the consequence of a process that does not play a collective role, does not associate activists enough and does not integrate the different sensibilities of our movement, which are embodied in certain personalities”, advanced Alexis Corbière. “It prevents us from reaching a consensus,” he added.

Lack of representativeness of activists

Deploring “an unsatisfactory situation”, the elected representative of Seine-Saint-Denis notably regrets the lack of “social parity” in this new direction, of which “18 of the 21 members are parliamentarians”. Although he is not a candidate to integrate this direction and that any personal ambition is therefore to be ruled out, he nevertheless pleads for the presence of personalities like Francois Ruffin or Clémentine Autain who did not retain despite their popularity with activists.

“There is a powerful thirst for democracy in this country, and it obviously also exists in LFI, for activists, not voting all the time is one thing, never voting is another,” hammered the deputy.

LFI has regularly experienced similar shocks since its creation in 2016. In question, the mode of designation which gives no room for maneuver to the militants. While the other Nupes parties immersed themselves in congresses to elect new leaders, LFI proceeds by “consensus” of the executives present at the meeting. Or, as denounces Clémentine Autain“by co-option, which favors courtiers and helps to silence criticism”.

Upcoming changes

And precisely, according to Clémentine Autain, who “shares Alexis Corbière’s analysis in all respects”, the appointment of this new management should “constitute an invitation to resume work all together to emerge from the top of this crisis” with ” the conviction that it is by consolidating our unity and our plurality that we will be stronger”.

Same story for the deputy Eric Coquerel, faithful lieutenant of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who pleads for “be represented in the direction all the nuance of the movement”, not saying against, in the future, internal elections.

As for Jean-Luc Mélenchon, he left his official posture “withdrawn” to sweep the critics, on his blog: “To distinguish oneself, as much to shine in the action and the speech without feeling obliged to denigrate the others or to make the common life impossible by confidences of press”.

However, a door has been left open: the group in the National Assembly will be able to appoint additional representatives to coordinate LFI in the coming weeks. This discussion, and possible requests to restart coordination, should notably be on the menu of the meetings of the group’s office on Monday evening and of the group as a whole on Tuesday.
