Despite the cloudy sky, some players wore sunglasses after a possibly very short night. Captain Lukas Hradecky had the DFB-trophy in his arms and explained on WDR: “In fact, I didn’t know where he stayed overnight. Today I’m looking after him.”
Party in the stadium
At this time, the stage program was already running in the Bayarena: Among others, Culcha Candela, Hermes House BandATC (A Touch of Class), Peter Lorenz, Dirk Maverick and Einmalique. The approximately 40,000 fans in the stadium were able to follow the team’s current location at any time via large video screens.
Tickets are sold out – WDR broadcasts the party live
Tickets for the stadium had long since sold out. However, without a ticket, you could still celebrate in the fan zone on the Stelzenautobahn right next to the Bayarena. WDR television also reported on the event with a special program lasting several hours:
