The Indian author Shubhangi Swarup has written a global bestseller with “Widths of Desire”. During the research she had to save money for years and almost died twice – and it was not at all clear whether her book would ever be published.
Shubhangi Swarup’s first novel is an international bestseller, has been translated into 17 languages and has received several awards. The Indian author has come to Europe for a reading tour. Her native language is Hindi, she wrote her book “Latitudes of Longing” in English, and “Breiten des Wünsches” has been published in German by Kommode-Verlag. The 41-year-old suggests meeting in a café in Berlin. During the conversation in English, she laughs a lot and then shows photos of her daughters, who are eight months and five years old and have stayed in India with her husband.
