Barcelona’s longtime identification figure Gerard Pique faces allegations over hosting the Spanish Supercopa in Saudi Arabia. Now there should be incriminating audio material.
The newspaper El Confidencial should therefore be files that prove the participation of Pique and his agency KOSMOS in the mega deal between the Spanish association and the much-criticized country. This is said to have brought the defender and his employees around 24 million euros.
“Let’s squeeze the Saudis,” the newspaper said in a phone conversation Pique allegedly had with Luis Rubiales, the chairman of the Spanish federation.

Furthermore, the defender has loud El Confidencial said in one of the recorded conversations about Real Madrid, which was also involved: “Okay, then they’ll get eight million. Rubiales then sent Pique the following voice message on September 15, 2019: “Congratulations Geri. And I don’t mean your goal from yesterday. It’s past midnight now, so the deal with the Saudis is done. I send you a hug, thanks for everything and let me know if you need anything.”
As early as 2019, several Spanish media reported on Pique’s possible participation in the awarding of the Supercopa to Saudi Arabia. The Spanish FA has already complained that the recent leaks were obtained “illegally and with clear criminal intent” and would contain “nothing new to what was released in 2019”. The “theft” will be reported accordingly. Pique has also announced a statement on his Twitch channel.
