Despite the Corona failures: There is no sign of tiredness in the dancing couples in the third show of “Let’s Dance”. Janin Ullmann gets the first highest rating of the season. Bastian Bielendorfer shows himself to be the hero of all stiff hips and Mathias Mester dares the first waltz.

Great feelings, the first 30-point rating in this season and a standing dancer in the red Superman cape, to which Joachim Llambi can only think of one word: “pipe burst”. Corona also leaves clear traces in show three of “Let’s Dance”: Only nine out of 12 couples appear. Caroline Bosbach, Lilly zu Sayn Wittgenstein and Timur Ülker have to take a break. For reasons of fairness, RTL decides that nobody will be kicked out this time. The couple with the most calls earns a bonus point and a benefit on next week’s show. Which performances were particularly memorable this Friday evening and who “should urgently put their brains on guard” – here is the summary.

Let’s dance: who whistles on the last hole?

He tries to invade in the red Superman cape. He tries it with a dummy upper body made of plastic muscle mass including a fake “I love Llambi” tattoo. He tries banging his ass to “Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle.” But none of comedian Bastian Bielendorfer’s attempts at distraction can hide the fact that his hip simply refuses to work. The task is Cha Cha Cha. But not only juror Joachim Llambi puzzles: “What’s that for a dance?” Motsi Mabuse feels reminded of her beginnings with “Let’s Dance” with Guildo Horn and even the notoriously positive Jorge González can only assume that Bastian is probably dancing “his own Cha Cha Cha”.

After all, the 37-year-old has no illusions about his appearance: “It was shit, but funny, right?” He asks with a grin. The result: 7 meager points and the red lantern as the last light. Pop singer Michelle and partner Christian Polanc landed in penultimate place with their slow waltz – but they received 14 points for it.

Which pair will make this season’s 30-point first?

The jury pulls out the trowel three times this evening with the highest rating: The first 30-point rating of this season goes to presenter Janin Ullmann and her professional partner Zsolt Sándor Cseke. Her contemporary made the jury go into raptures: “For me, it was the most emotional contemporary we’ve had here!” says Jorge. Motsi: “That was an absolute goosebump moment and that so early in the season!” But the accolade comes from Joachim Llambi: “Tonight is such an evening where the favorites emerge. Casselli and Ullmann, that will be an exciting number this season.

The 40-year-old Ullmann dared to dance far out of her comfort zone. With the contemporary to “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato, she wants to process the failed love affair with her husband Kostja Ullmann: “I was with my husband for twelve years, I thought it was great love, but we didn’t make it.” After the performance, Ullmann is visibly upset: “It’s about letting go. Dancing helps a lot, as I’m learning right now.”

Who secures the bonus point?

Artist René Cassely and Kathrin Menzinger perform a brilliant quick step that inspires Daniel Hartwich to quip: “Krass, krasser, Krasselli!” Motsi Mabuse is so enthusiastic that she calls on viewers several times to please “flush back the show from three weeks ago on TVNow” to see Casselly’s huge progress. The fact that Llambi prompts her several times “RTL + that’s what it’s called now!” She ignores with a smile. The jury then agreed on the evaluation: 29 points and the said important bonus point.

Which professional is particularly strict?

Actress Sarah Mangione is not spared during training by partner Vadim Garbuzov: “Put your brain on guard!” The professional warns her several times, please concentrate. The fact that the chemistry between “Sährchen and Vadel” – as their mutual nicknames are called – is excellent is shown with the Cha Cha Cha. “You have such unpolished energy,” says Motsi Mabuse happily about Mangione. Llambi still has advice: “Don’t always go to 12, sometimes eleven is enough.” At the end there are good 20 points.

How are Mathias Mester and Renata Lusin doing?

The crowd favorites dare their first ballroom dance: a slow waltz. “I really want to have a lifting figure in there,” says Mester. In addition to the size difference, his dance partner sees another challenge for the ex-Olympic champion: “You have to show yourself from a different side today: very emotional.” So instead of fireworks of action, calm and precise timing – and big emotions.

Mester succeeds, despite noticeable nervousness. “Chico, that was an explosion of feelings!” Jorge praises the performance. “Of course things are different with you,” says Motsi, “but that moved me so much!” Joachim Llambi finds the performance less convincing: “Unfortunately, you tilted your upper body too far forward, then your butt comes out like that,” he criticizes Mester. He counters quick-wittedly: “And I have a lot of bottom.”

Llambi emphasizes that he doesn’t make any differences to the other couples when evaluating: “I know you don’t want that either, so there’s no special sausage from me here!” He promises himself. Mester: “That’s why I’m here: I would like to dance like everyone else and it will be better next time.” Your points: 21.

The best saying of the evening?

Mathias Mester thanks his dance partner Renata Lusin – in his own humorous way. “She reminds me of an old roommate. He only had six percent vision. He didn’t see the dust in the booth and I couldn’t get it. It’s the same with Renata and me: we understand each other blindly.”
