For the first time, “Let’s Dance” doesn’t broadcast from the studio. In the quarterfinals there is a trip to the stage of the musical “Moulin Rouge!”.

Premiere at “Let’s Dance” on May 10, 2024. For the first time, RTL will not be broadcasting the dance show from the studio in Cologne-Ossendorf. Instead, the moderation duo Daniel Hartwich (45) and Victoria Swarovski (30) will be broadcasting from the Musical Dome. Also in The musical “Moulin Rouge!” is running at the venue in Cologne.

The quarter-finals of “Let’s Dance” take place in the backdrop, which is based on the famous Paris variety show. The five remaining couples then dance to songs from the musical, which is based on the 2001 film of the same name by Baz Luhrmann (61). The jury desk is transferred from the studio to the Musical Dome. Jorge González (56), Motsi Mabuse (43) and Joachim Llambi (59) will give their reviews as usual at the desk.

“We are looking forward to a great quarter-final, which will take place outside the TV studio for the first time in the history of ‘Let’s Dance’,” says RTL entertainment director Markus Küttner in a press release. Henning Pillekamp, ​​managing director of Moulin Rouge Musical Productions GmbH, is also celebrating. “No production of ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ anywhere in the world has hosted a live TV show,” the press release quoted him as saying.

“This of course brings with it completely new requirements and processes. All departments here are currently working at full speed and we can hardly wait to present this gigantic result to the television audience as a world premiere,” continued Pillekamp. The ensemble of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” gets a stage on television through “Let’s Dance”. It opens broadcast on RTL on May 10th (also on RTL+).

“Moulin Rouge! The Musical” celebrated its premiere in Boston in 2018, and a year later it moved to New York’s Broadway. The show with songs from Adele to Elton John has been running successfully in Cologne since November 6, 2022.

Next Friday (May 3rd, 2024) the round of 16 is coming up for “Let’s Dance” – in the RTL studio. The celebrities Detlef Soost (53), Gabriel Kelly (22), Jana Wosnitza (30), Lulu Lewe (31), Mark Keller (58) and Tony Bauer (27) are still in the running.
