Fans of the RTL soap “Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten” know him as Nihat Güney, now actor Timur Ülker wants to prove his dancing talent on “Let’s Dance”.
The 15th season of the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance” begins on February 18 at 8:15 p.m. 14 celebrities dance for victory. Below: Timur Ülker.

Training: Ülker was born in Hamburg and grew up in the Harburg district. He trained as an IT system clerk, but failed the final exam. At the age of 20, he signed up for four years in the Bundeswehr and was also deployed in Afghanistan. In 2017 he completed an acting course in Los Angeles.

Who is Timur Ulker? The 32-year-old has had to cope with several setbacks in his life. His father left the family when Ülker was a child, his older sister died as a result of a heart defect. As a teenager, he got on the wrong track, expelled from school and broke off his education. The turning point brought his role in the RTL2 series “Cologne 50667” in 2015. But success went to Ülker’s head, he celebrated too much, neglected his family and missed shooting dates. In 2017 he was dropped from the series. “At that moment I woke up and knew: Timur, it can’t go on like this,” he said in an interview last year.
The biggest success: Timur Ülker has been playing the role of Nihat Güney in the RTL soap “Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten” since 2018. The character is so popular that last year he got his own series. “Nihat – Everything at the beginning” was shown on the RTL+ streaming service in September 2021. Sarah Mangione, who also takes part in the current “Let’s Dance” season, played alongside Ülker.

- In 2017, Timur Ülker took part in the nude dome show “Adam sucht Eva”, although he was in a relationship – he needed the money.
- Ülker and his partner Caroline Steinhof have a son and a daughter together. The seven-year-old was born almost blind and received a corneal transplant at the age of four months.
