Les jardins d’Éole, from drug trafficking site to urban farm

A place known for its drug trafficking becomes an urban farm. This does not have a priori report and yet, this is what happened to the gardens of Éole, located in the north-east of Paris. Frequented by drug addicts and feared by residents, this place now hosts chickens, goats, guinea pigs and other residents.

Several Farms of Hope have been created in the Paris region: “It makes it possible to bridge the gap between drug users and residents in order to simply deconstruct prejudices that have existed for a very long time. Here, organizations come to give their leftover food to the chickens, young people in civic service take part in the care of the animals and drug users lend a hand to the project. The neighborhood is revitalized: “Today, we find a lot of families and a lot of recognition from them because of our work here. “
