It’s sad news for her fans, which Lena Meyer-Landrut would like to deliver herself: the singer has canceled her upcoming tour. The situation with the corona virus is too uncertain for her.

A season is beginning for German artists that they have probably been waiting for for two years: the Corona guidelines are being relaxed, concerts are possible again. However, this does not mean that the virus has been defeated or disappeared, as the current incidences clearly show.

Lena Meyer-Landrut cancels tour because of Corona

Lena Meyer-Landrut drew conclusions from this. The musician announced on Instagram that she would like to cancel her upcoming summer tour and festival appearances. “I feel a responsibility towards you and I don’t feel safe enough myself to play with a full production in mostly sold-out, full halls in view of the ongoing corona pandemic,” writes Meyer-Landrut. “My feeling is that the time is not yet ripe,” says the 2010 ESC winner.

The festival performances, which take place outside and are therefore less risky, she cancels in one go because “unfortunately it makes absolutely no sense economically, in terms of content and environmentally sustainable [ergebe]to play them”. Meyer-Landrut also explains that she would like to celebrate “more carefree” and that she would like everyone to be able to “lie in each other’s arms”.

“I don’t want to endanger you”

“My feeling is that unfortunately it’s not possible at the moment. I don’t want to endanger you. That’s my personal decision and I don’t judge or judge anyone who decides differently and plays or lets concerts and big events take place,” explains them in their post.

In the comments below the post, the reactions are mixed. “It’s a shame, but I personally think it’s a very brave and right decision. I don’t (yet) feel comfortable standing in the crowd again, etc. Respect for you and all the best,” writes a fan. Another user complains , she couldn’t really understand the decision.
