Attentive passers-by wanted to help her, but without success: a woman died at a tram stop in Leipzig. According to the police, she probably died “not of natural causes”.

In Leipzig, a 40-year-old woman died on Tuesday evening under unexplained circumstances. According to the police, she died at a tram stop on Augustusplatz shortly after the police received an emergency call. Even an emergency doctor could no longer save the woman. According to initial investigations, nothing indicates that she was the victim of a crime.

As a police spokesman announced, passers-by had become aware of the woman because she obviously had health problems. Police officers still provided first aid, but to no avail. There were traces of blood on the way to the bus stop, apparently from the woman. The site was cordoned off over a large area.

Police in Leipzig: are “only at the beginning of the investigation”

The exact way of death is still unclear, said the police spokesman. The 40-year-old probably died “not a natural death”. But they are “only at the beginning of the investigation”.
